Job Description

Pay is dependent on experience. Starting pay is no less than $18.50/hr. Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician with a minimum of two years experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be compassionate and have a passion for the welfare of our patients. The candidate will have strong communication, restraint, technical, and pharmacology skills. This position is fast paced and requires critical thinking, efficiency, and proficiency in all areas of the job. The ideal candidate will be a team player, but also be able to work independently. The potential candidate is able to efficiently multitask, take initiative, and have the ability to remain calm and focused during stressful situations. Duties As a Veterinary Technician, your responsibilities will include: Efficiency in EMR software and multi-line phone system. Assisting veterinarians and other staff during examinations and surgical procedures. Performing laboratory tests and analyzing results including ear and skin cytology, urinalysis. Familiarity with in house diagnostic machines. Administering medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Obtain accurate vitals. Ability to properly restrain and use proper technique to obtain diagnostic quality radiographs. Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Filling prescriptions, preventative and food orders as directed by the Veterinarians. Process client transactions with confidentiality. Use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation during communication with clients, referral hospitals, and staff. Experience The ideal candidate will have: A minimum of two years veterinary technician experience. A Veterinary Technician Degree and certification is ideal, but not required. A flexible schedule including ability to work evenings and some Saturdays. We encourage candidates who are passionate and empathetic about animal care and possess the required skills to apply. Pay is commensurate with experience.
