Veterinary Surgical Technician Neighborhood Veterinary Centers - Universal City, TX Neighborhood Veterinary Centers is a family-owned group of veterinary practices built around exceptional medicine, strong teams, and a genuine commitment to the people and pets we serve. We're looking for an experienced Surgical Technician to join our Universal City team. This is a hands-on role for someone who is confident in the surgical setting, takes pride in excellent patient care, and works well as part of a collaborative team. What You'll Do Prepare surgical patients, equipment, instruments, and surgical suites Assist veterinarians throughout a variety of surgical procedures Monitor patients under anesthesia and recognize changes that require attention Safely administer and monitor medications under veterinary direction Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture Monitor patients through recovery and provide appropriate post-operative care Perform dental radiographs and demonstrate proficiency with dental X-ray equipment and positioning Maintain accurate patient records and communicate important patient information to the veterinary team Maintain surgical instruments and equipment and help ensure the surgical area remains clean, organized, and properly stocked Follow established safety, sanitation, and infection-control protocols Work closely with doctors and the broader veterinary team to provide excellent patient care What We're Looking For Previous veterinary surgical technician experience is required. We're looking for someone who can step into the role with confidence and contribute from day one.
The ideal candidate:
Has previous experience working as a veterinary surgical technician Is proficient in anesthesia monitoring, patient assessment, and surgical support Is proficient in dental radiography, including proper positioning and operation of dental X-ray equipment Has strong technical skills, including IV catheter placement and venipuncture Understands the importance of careful patient monitoring before, during, and after surgery Is dependable, organized, and able to anticipate what the doctor and surgical team will need Communicates clearly and works well with doctors, technicians, assistants, and leadership Takes initiative and stays calm and focused in a busy clinical environment Cares deeply about patient safety and providing compassionate care Is committed to continuing to learn and grow as a veterinary professional Why Neighborhood Veterinary Centers?
