Job Description

Must be a Certified Licensed Veterinary Technician. We are a family owned small animal practice. We currently have 2 doctors on staff. We are looking to add a Part-Time or Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician. We are looking for an individual that has a positive attitude, has great knowledge of veterinary medicine, is a team player, and has great love and compassion for animals to join our team. Our hours consist of Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:00pm and offer a flexible work schedule. We offer health, dental, vision, Simple IRA, and short term/long term disability. We also offer a generous pet discount and pay for the whole team to go to the Pacific Northwest Veterinary Conference every year. We see appointments, surgical procedures, and limited drop offs daily, surgical, and preventative medicine. Our hospital offers a Full Surgical Suite, Excellent Dental Care, Digital Radiographs, Ultrasound, Idexx In-House Diagnostics, Cryosurgery and Cold Laser Treatments. We work with and keep only digital/electronic records. We encourage and believe in constantly growing your knowledge in veterinary medicine to be able to provide high quality patient care and we give you the tools to accomplish that. Pay based on experience and skills Typical duties include (These are a must):
  • Ability to have thorough client communication
  • Ability to Lift 10 Pounds or More.
  • Animal Handling/Catheter Placement/Blood Draw/Injections/Administer Fluids
  • Assist Veterinarians/Exam Room Protocol
  • Laboratory/Digital Radiography
  • Medication Preparation
  • Surgical Assistance/Monitoring Surgery/Manage Anesthesia/Administer Medications/Hospitalized Patient Care
  • Able to Perform Dentals/Dental Charting/Discharge Instructions
  • Safety Protocols and Cleaning Standards
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, to read and interpret documents such as patient charts, vaccine histories, medical labels, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Exhibit technical knowledge of medications/diets/products sold, and nutritional products.
  • Explain and educate clients on the products and answer questions concerning products.
  • Answer calls relating to pet care as directed from the front office. Educate clients and technical staff regarding policies where required.
  • Ability to multi task and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to complete daily checklists and weekly maintenance logs.
  • Manage and monitor controlled drug logs and inventory levels.
