We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. As an LVT, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Responsibilities:
Take charge in the treatment/surgery rooms, maintain work flow & efficiencies. Join our other experienced LVT's and utilize your technical skills to the fullest. Assist veterinarians in performing medical procedures, surgeries, and examinations Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Prepare animals for surgery, including prepping surgical sites and monitoring anesthesia Perform laboratory tests on our i/h chemistry analyzer. Collect and prepare lab samples to be sent out to our reference laboratory. Take and develop X-rays for diagnostic purposes (digital). Provide post-operative care and monitor patients during recovery Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in the system Educate pet owners on proper animal care, medication administration, and post-treatment instructions Clean and maintain equipment, instruments, and treatment areas Assist with animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, and exercise
Qualifications:
LVT, CVT or equivalent certification required. Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician or in a related field is highly desirable Proficient knowledge of veterinary terminology and medical procedures Strong understanding of animal behavior, handling techniques, and restraint methods Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols Ability to perform animal catheterization and assist with diagnostic procedures Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners effectively Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Join our fun and capable medical staff. Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The technician must be able to multi-task. They must be able to think quickly on their feet. They must be able to develop positive working relationships with clients and co-workers.
Skills:
The technician must have skills/knowledge on how to perform dental cleanings, charting teeth abnormalities, anesthesia induction and monitoring, surgical preparation, intravenous catheter placement, vaccination administration, venipuncture, in-house lab work, and filling prescriptions. Our new Team Member must work well with others as well as independently, take initiative and thrive in a busy work environment.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
