Responsible for administering the operation of the Broad River complex main gate. Ensure control and security of the SC Department of Corrections Broad River complex (BRC)/area buildings/ facilities and equipment, to include: access and egress from the BRC, Education Division (formerly known as the Director's House) and grounds surrounding institutions and/or divisions of SC Department of Corrections (SCDC). Supervise and verify the accuracy of scheduled visitors and functions to ensure only authorized personnel are permitted entry. Evaluate officers' duty performance; instruct & counsel officers in required duty performance standards. Ensure subordinates maintain all training and certification requirements and receive additional training, to include OJT as needed or required. Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire. State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and eighteen (18) months experience in correctional, security, military, or police work. A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for 1/2 of required experience. Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
