Now hiring Juvenile Detention Officers for the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center. Full time positions, various shifts for 24 hour operation with starting pay at $54,215 annually. Basic duties consist of, but are not limited to, providing direct care, custody and discipline for minors held in the detention facility. Performs admission and release functions, maintains security within the detention center, monitors activities, maintains records, actively participates in programming, and assists with transportation of minors to and from Court, placements and appointments. This position requires a bachelor's degree , preferably in the field of social science, behavioral science or criminal justice. Must be a resident of the State of Illinois within 90 days of hiring. Experience in counseling, probation or corrections desirable. Ideal candidate will have experience working with 10-17 year old population. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required. Background check and drug screen are required . Candidate must be free from misdemeanor conviction for the last ten years and have no felony convictions.

MUST BE 21

years old and have a valid Illinois Driver's License.
