Job Description

Community Corrections Officer Community Corrections Officer $42,387 - $50,844 The Community Corrections Officer serves as the Department of Corrections liaison with other criminal justice agencies to ensure those citizens given pretrial release, electronic home monitoring or community service assignments are properly monitored and supervised. This role is considered Essential personnel. Prepares and provides accurate and timely information to the Courts regarding the criminal and institutional histories of the accused; Performs background checks on potential and assigned program participants by interviewing family members, employees, and neighbors, and reviewing participants Federal, State and Local files; Monitor program participants to ensure compliance and enforce program rules and regulations and reports violations to Court; Obtains specimen samples from participants daily; Routinely interacts with representatives of the Circuit and District Courts, Law Enforcement, the States Attorneys Office and Defense Attorneys; Solicits public and private organization participation in the Community Service Program; Serves as Circuit Court Drug Court Liaison for WCDC; and Monitors individuals on Home Detention, Electronic Monitoring and/or Community Service. Qualifications High School Diploma. Correctional Officer Certification required.
CJIS/NCIC
certification. Valid Drivers License. Ability to effectively communicate & maintain successful working relationships internally and externally. Ability to work effectively with minimum direct supervision. Ability to mediate disputes in a fair, impartial manner. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
