Correctional Officer I is an entry level position that requires successful completion of the Entry Level Correctional Academy.

Duties Include:

Supervision and Monitoring of inmates in housing units and inmates assigned to special confinement. Counting of inmates at regular and irregular intervals and keeping a total count of inmates and their location. Conducting random housing unit and perimeter security checks of the institution. Performing regular pat searches of inmates. Enforcing the rules and regulation of the department. Preparing written reports, documenting post activities, and completing other paperwork as required. Shift work including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age or older; Must possess a high school diploma or GED that is recognized by the MD Board of Education; Must be a US Citizen or Resident Alien; Must successfully pass a background investigation; Must successfully pass drug screening; Must successfully pass a physical examination; Must successfully pass psychological testing; and Must possess a Valid Driver's License.

Pay:

$50,000.00 per year
