We are seeking individuals who are interested in a long-term career within the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department. This is a combined Radio Operator and Jailer position. Duties include dispatching emergency requests for fire, police and rescue, operating computer equipment and maintaining the general operation of the jail. It's a job with a ton of variety including something different every day. Duties include answering 911 calls and local calls for service, dispatching appropriate emergency responder calls, dispatching police, and responding to radio requests from officers. Alternate days are spent maintaining and conducting the general operation of our 22-bed jail.

The Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department is led by Sheriff Matt Joski. The Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department is comprised of numerous divisions, each with their own unique skillset and focus. Our agency provides all correctional and Court Security resources for Kewaunee County along with being the single Public Safety Answering Point for all emergency calls. We are responsible for the dispatching of all Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS resources throughout the County. This is a combined Radio Operator and Jailer position. Maintain the most effective enforcement of Federal and State laws and ordinances for the preservations of public peace, protection of property, prevention of crime, and the arrest and conviction of violators. This position is responsible for the supervision of all inmates secured in the Kewaunee County Jail and includes knowledge and operations of the Kewaunee County Communication System, which includes the receiving, and dispatching of emergency services within the county. Provides courtroom security for the Circuit Court, Juvenile Court and Family Court in the courthouse. Provides security in and around the courthouse during times when the courthouse is open for regular business and/or court is in session.

Pay:
$32.69 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
