Begin your impactful journey this school year, serving a motivated 10th-grade student located in the New Orleans area. This part-time, contract role runs through approximately May 2027, offering a unique opportunity to make a difference in a student's educational experience. We're seeking candidates who can provide both VI and braille instruction, whether as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with braille skills or as two separate professionals. Service hours are tailored for student needs: one hour per week for VI services and three hours per week dedicated to braille instruction. This is an hourly W2 contract, with competitive pay between $41-46 per hour, reflecting your specialized expertise.

Qualifications and Skills:

Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) and/or Braillist Proficiency in braille instructional techniques and materials Experience supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings Understanding of IEP processes and accommodations Ability to collaborate with general education staff, families, and support teams Strong communication and organizational skills
