9666798-70115 Job Description Make a meaningful difference in a students life by providing specialized instruction as a Visually Impaired (VI) & Braille Teacher in the New Orleans area. This contract position is ideal for professionals skilled in teaching students with visual impairments and experienced Braillists ready to support a high school student on a dedicated, individualized basis through May 21, 2027.

Support one 10th-grade student
Schedule:
1 hour per week of VI services and 3 hours per week of Braille instruction Flexible start dateposition open to begin as soon as possible Accepting candidates who are dual-certified as Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with Braille expertise, or those specialized in only VI or Braille instruction
Qualifications:
State certification/license as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired and/or certification as a Braillist Previous experience providing direct instruction to students with visual impairments, preferably at the secondary grade level Proficient in delivering tailored lessons and supporting Braille literacy and access Collaborative and communicative, able to work effectively with school teams, families, and the student Organized, reliable, and compassionate educator comfortable with both direct instruction and consultative roles
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized VI and Braille instruction, ensuring accessibility and academic progress Adapt curriculum materials and support the use of assistive technology as needed Monitor progress and document service delivery Collaborate with classroom staff and participate in IEP meetings to advocate for the students needs This W2 hourly contract offers the opportunity to profoundly impact a young persons educational experience. Compensation is $41-46 per hour, recognizing your expertise and commitment.
