Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational environment, supporting students in hands-on technical classrooms focused on Trucking and Equipment, Welding, and Collision and Repair. This full-time contract opportunity (35 hours per week, Monday through Friday) offers fulfillment for those passionate about guiding learners and making a difference in career-focused education. Your expertise as a paraprofessional will help shape the skills and aspirations of students, all while gaining valuable experience in a unique instructional setting.
What We're Looking For:
Experience as a paraprofessional, preferably in school or technical classroom settings Subject matter familiarity in trucking, welding, auto repair, or related fields highly desirable Completion of at least two years of study (60 semester hours) at an accredited higher education institution, OR Possession of an associate's degree (or higher) from an accredited institution, OR Successful completion of the ETA Parapro Assessment (minimum score of 460), OR Satisfactory College Board SAT results (480 in evidence-based reading/writing and 530 in math) Strong communication skills, reliability, and a collaborative nature
Key Responsibilities:
Support certified teachers and classroom management in technical subject areas Assist students individually and in small groups with understanding and applying hands-on skills Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment Adapt to varying student needs, fostering engagement and academic growth Participate in curriculum activities and ongoing training as needed As part of this role, you'll play an instrumental part in students' educational journeys, gaining practical experience in a specialized school environment near Livonia, MI.
