PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: 1.
Coordination of care which includes:
Sign patient's involuntary/voluntary (compliance). Notify doctors of Certs. Notice of Hearing. Update Court Board. Meet with attorneys. Communication with Court via phone. Process emergency Guardianship paperwork. Extension of Court treatment orders. Deferrals Communicate medication compliance with psychiatrist. Send letter to court notifying patient was discharge prior to court date. 2. Perform other additional duties as assigned under the direction of a Registered Nurse. 3. Assist Registered Nurse in the development of patient treatment plan by: A. Implementing care plan of assigned patients. B. Evaluating the patient response to dare provided. 4. Escort patient and monitor patients in transit in hospital and to/from court. 5. Complete appropriate records, forms, equipment and services as indicated. 6. Assist in applying protective devices under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. 7. Assist with admissions/discharges and transfers of patients in a timely manner. 8. Completes all necessary documentation.
SUPERVISION
Reports to the Psychiatrist, Nurse Manager or Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
High School graduate or Associates Degree in mental health preferred. 2.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
Five (5) years experience in engaging with individuals that require behavioral assistance. 3.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families and hospital personnel.
