Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $ 12.00 - $15.00 FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function The Disability Services Office is looking for a dependable Captioning Specialist. This position works with a team to make videos or audio recordings accessible for all students. The primary responsibilities of the position are as follows: Provide captions (subtitles) in English using specialized captioning software. Review course videos and other media to ensure accurate and complete captions are embedded. Add or edit captions when needed. Ensure that background noises, auditory cues, and speaker identification are included in the edited captions. Capture, store and retrieve videos, audio or other information. Operate computerized captioning system. Follow

Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Computer proficient. Ability to work independently or with little supervision, reliable, and able to complete work within time constraints. Preferred Qualifications Strong typing skills (50-60 WPM) English proficient, spelling, and proper use of grammar and punctuation. One year college experience or similar related experience.
