Substitute Noon Supervisor

Job Description

Under the direction of the principal, provide supervision for students on the playground and in the cafeteria. Assist and supervise students entering and leaving the cafeteria and while at play on the playground. Supervise students while in the cafeteria for breakfast or lunch. May assist in clean up of cafeteria after lunch. May issue citations to students failing to obey cafeteria or playground rules. Intervene, when needed, to keep students safe. Maintain good rapport with students and staff. Report pertinent information to teachers or principal.
OTHER DUTIES
On rainy days, may monitor hallways by roving them to insure students are orderly in their classrooms.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Acceptable behavior of students while interacting in play. Oral and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
ABILITY TO
Speak English clearly and distinctly. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Work independently with little direction. Meet schedules. Work outdoors in local weather conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
ENVIRONMENT:
Outdoors work environment. Seasonal heat and cold or adverse weather conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Standing or walking for extended periods of time. Seeing to monitor student activities. Hearing and speaking to exchange information.

Any combination equivalent to: sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above. If your application is accepted to move forward in this recruitment , you will be invited to the written examination; the exam dates are continuous.
