SSJCFA contribution fully covers premiums for Kaiser HMO or Sutter HMO with dental and vision and provides a generous contribution towards other plans including Kaiser Point of Service Plan and PPO. Individual coverage of $50,000 is fully paid by the SSCJFA. Supplemental life insurance may be purchased by the employee at the same premium rate paid by the City. In lieu of SDI, the City pays LTD and LTC. Retirement Program

Employees hired by the South San Joaquin County Fire Authority "the Authority" on or after January 1, 2022 receive the following retirement formula
2.7% @ 57 (average of highest years). Voluntary 457 Deferred Compensation programs available (ICMA-RC & VALIC). Public Safety does not participate in Social Security. Vacation
(56 hour work week)
General vacation accrues at the rate of 12 hours per month the first year and progresses up to 24 hours per month at 16 years of service. For 20+ years, one (1) additional hour is added per month for each additional year of service. (40 hour work week)
General vacation accrues at a rate of 96 hours per year the first year and progresses up to 192 hours per year at 16 years of service. For 20+ years, eight (8) additional hours per year are added for each year of service. Sick Leave

Sick leave is accrued at 24 hours per month with unlimited accrual. (40 hour work week)
Sick leave is accrued at a rate of 96 hours per year with unlimited accrual. Holidays

Employees receive Holiday in-lieu pay. (40 hour work week)
There are 14 paid holidays per year (includes 2 floating holidays). Uniform Allowance
Employees receive a fixed uniform allowance in the amount of $915 per year. Dependent Care and Medical Spending Accounts
(IRS Section 125): Available to eligible employees on a voluntary basis. Additional Benefits
