Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Responder, where your energy and commitment will make a vital difference in emergency situations. In this dynamic role, you will respond swiftly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and other critical situations. Your expertise in firefighting, emergency medical response, and safety protocols will help protect lives, property, and the environment. Duties Respond promptly to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and rescue calls. Operate firefighting specialized equipment including fire hoses, extinguishers, and fire suppression systems effectively. Conduct search and rescue operations in confined spaces and during building evacuations using appropriate PPE and SCBA. Administer first aid and CPR to stabilize patients until advanced medical care arrives. Manage incident scenes by implementing incident command procedures and coordinating with other emergency responders. Operate fire apparatus such as fire trucks and rescue vehicles safely under NFPA standards. Participate in environmental protection hazardous materials response to contain spills or leaks following HAZMAT protocols. Perform fire safety inspections, educate the public on fire prevention, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Engage in training exercises regularly to maintain proficiency in firefighting techniques, emergency medicine, and mechanical knowledge. Assist with heavy lifting during rescue operations and ensure the proper use of respiratory protection equipment. Experience Hands-on experience with firefighting operations including the use of specialized equipment and fire suppression techniques. Knowledge of HAZMAT protocols for hazardous materials incident response and environmental protection measures. Familiarity with incident command systems (ICS) for managing emergency scenes efficiently. Experience operating fire apparatus such as engines or ladder trucks safely in various conditions. Ability to perform confined space rescue operations using appropriate PPE and rescue tools. Mechanical knowledge related to firefighting equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus. Valid driver's license or equivalent is preferred for operating emergency vehicles. Strong physical fitness for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, climbing ladders, and performing physically demanding tasks. Excellent communication skills for vital signs assessment, reporting incidents accurately, and collaborating within a team.
