Roane State Community College Job Summary Teach Fire Science Courses online using D2L Brightspace and in person on the Oak Ridge and Knoxville - Hayfield campuses. Job Duties Instruction and Student Engagement. Assessment and Grading. Student Support and Communication. Adhere to Institutional policies and procedures. Utilize the Learning Management System, Brightspace. Follow state and federal fire science guidelines. Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in fire science or a related field. Hold a valid, Tennessee Fire Commission -Fire Instructor II Certification Academy Credentialed Instructor (ACI) in Introduction to Fire and Emergency Services and Basic Firefighting. Successful completion of the TN Fire Commission FO120-Conducting Live Fire Evolutions Class. Be familiar with
IAFC/NFPS 1010.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Classroom, office, laboratory, and field-based instruction. Physical ability to demonstrate or supervise fire service skills. Use of personal protective equipment during training evolutions. Travel to training sites, fire departments, or partner agencies. Evening or weekend instruction as needed. Compliance with all safety standards during practical and live training activities.
