Job Description

This is a highly technical position requiring extensive amounts of records keeping, logging, filing and typing. Good knowledge of the Policies and Procedures of the

FCIC/NCIC/NLETS

systems and a good working knowledge of the overall Law Enforcement process. Operators must constantly be aware of the civil litigations which may arise as a result of misuse of the system, regardless of intent.

Tasks:

Complete assignment as directed; maintain work areas; knowledge of general orders; respond to teletype inquiries and other related assistance under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff and in accordance with agency and Florida Department of Law Enforcement policy.

Minimum four years related work experience, or Associates Degree and two years related work experience.
Obtain and maintain the State of Florida Public Safety Telecommunicator (PST) certification.
Demonstrated skill in the use of computer and office equipment as required to perform the position tasks.
Ability to work independently using efficient time management skills.
Ability to enter and/or retrieve information from

WINGS/NCIC/FCIC

computer systems in an accurate manner and in accordance with all applicable state and federal statutes and agency policies.

Effectively communicate information, both verbal and written, demonstrating awareness for human diversity to citizens and colleagues.
