We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Police Chief to lead our law enforcement team. The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, foster community relationships, and ensure public safety through effective policing. This role requires administrative and patrol related duties and offers an opportunity to make a positive impact within our community.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement departmental policies and strategic plans to promote safety and efficiency. Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to officers and staff. Oversee investigations of crimes and incidents, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy. Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and community organizations to enhance safety initiatives. Engage with residents through community involvement, attending events, and listening to concerns. Conduct proactive policing by patrolling neighborhoods, identifying issues early, and implementing crime prevention strategies. Handle diverse calls including traffic violations, disputes, mental health crises, and minor offenses. Maintain accurate records, prepare reports on police activities, and ensure compliance with regulations. Represent the department at public meetings and coordinate with elected officials. Daily involvement within the two local school systems
Qualifications:
OPOTA certification required. Minimum of 5 years of law enforcement experience with extensive knowledge of practices, procedures, and regulations Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with the community, other agencies, and officials. Proficient in report writing, record keeping, and conflict resolution. Experience in loss prevention strategies is desirable. Ability to handle complex situations professionally while maintaining public trust.

$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
