$10,000 for eligible entry-level hires Join the Clark County Sheriff's Office The Clark County Sheriff's Office is seeking motivated, community-minded individuals to serve as Deputy Sheriffs . This is an opportunity to build a rewarding law enforcement career while protecting and serving the Clark County community. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, strong communication skills, leadership, active listening, and effective problem-solving. What You'll Do Deputy Sheriffs perform a variety of public safety and law enforcement duties, including: Patrol assigned areas and respond to calls for service Enforce state and local laws Conduct traffic enforcement and investigations Respond to emergencies and public safety incidents Investigate suspicious and criminal activity Make arrests when necessary Prepare accurate reports and records Work with residents, businesses, and community partners Apply sound judgment in rapidly changing situations Minimum Qualifications Candidates must: Be at least 21 years old at time of hire Have a high school diploma or GED Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident Be able to obtain and maintain a valid Washington State driver's license Meet applicable background, criminal history, driving, and integrity standards Be available to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays Successfully complete all required stages of the hiring process Testing & Hiring Process Applicants must successfully complete the Law Enforcement Written Exam and Physical Ability Test through Public Safety Testing to move forward. Selected candidates may also complete interviews, a background investigation, polygraph examination, psychological evaluation, and other required pre-employment screening. Compensation & Incentives Eligible entry-level Deputy Sheriff hires may receive a $10,000 hiring bonus . Additional education incentive pay may include:
Associate Degree:
+2%
Bachelor's Degree:
+4%
Master's Degree:
