Required Qualifications High School education or equivalent Current Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.) Basic Law Enforcement Certification, in good standing Minimum experience of 3 years in police work Minimum of 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license No felony convictions Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education/Experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Good oral and written communication and inter-personal skills. A strong work ethic and the ability to exercise sound judgment. Must possess the ability establish and maintain effective working relationship with diverse campus community. Exhibit good customer service skills. Must have substantive knowledge of and experience with community policing principles and practices Proficiency in maintenance and use of firearm. IT literate and basic proficiency in operation of standard office equipment Physical Demands Positions in this class typically require frequent standing, walking, sitting, grasping, lifting and carrying, bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, use of foot controls, driving, talking, hearing and seeing. Positions are also subject to and must successfully pass physical exam and drug test. Heavy Work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
