PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Police Patrol

• Corporal is a first line supervisor responsible for the supervision, and direction Police Officers. A Police Patrol
• Corporal will assume the duties and responsibilities a first line supervisor, especially those on the street when no other supervisor is available. The Police Patrol
• Corporal receives general supervision from the department's Assistant Chief. The Police Patrol
• Corporal is responsible for assuring compliance with the goals, objectives, values, and vision to achieve the department's stated mission.

Work with considerable latitude and independent judgment. Performs a variety duties including, but not limited to, scheduling, monitoring, inspecting, and coordinating the work activities Police Officers. Assists with investigations and communicates, interprets, and ensures compliance with performance standards, maintains records, approves reports and ensures proper use and condition equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONCERTIFICATION High School diploma or certified GED required Must hold a valid Peace Officer License from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Consideration will not be given to TCOLE license or license from another state with a General Discharge, Dishonorable Discharge, or the equivalent notation from previous law enforcement jobs Must have a valid Texas Driver's license with an acceptable driving record Two or more years college or advanced training preferred Must be able to work days, evening and night shifts with varied days off Submit to a thorough background investigation Excellent oral and written communication skills

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGESKILLS

Proficient with PD Evidence Software and ability to train Police personnel Proficient with Lexipol Software and ability to train Police personnel Proficient with ARMS Software and ability to train Police personnel Proficient with COPSYNC Interface (TCIC & NCIC) reporting Work independently as dispatcher when needed General knowledge criminal investigation, police report writing, and criminal laws Training and ability to subdue offenders, including use firearms and handcuffs To be bondable as required by Texas Education Code §.(h) Ability to pass required physical, psychiatric, and drug tests Ability to work well with youth and adults

EXPERIENCE

Prior experience as a Police supervisor preferred General knowledge criminal investigations and patrol procedures Two years successful law enforcement experience as a commissioned peace officer in an ISD setting preferred Displaying AUX
