Job Description

The City of Whitehouse, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is now accepting applications for a Full-Time Police Officer. All applications need to be submitted to the

The Whitehouse Police Department is seeking a diverse, highly motivated, community oriented individual with integrity willing to face a variety of challenges and responsibilities, one who is committed to working in partnership with the residents of our growing community to provide a safe, secure environment to enhance the quality of life. This is accomplished by patrolling, performing preliminary or follow-up criminal investigations, accident investigation and traffic control while enforcing federal and state laws as well as local municipal ordinances.
Compensation:
Starting Salary:
$64,721.90 - $85,910.24 DOE The City offers excellent benefits including paid holidays, vacation/sick leave, health, dental, life, disability insurance, and TMRS retirement. This position is subject to close without notice.
Qualifications:
Must possess a Texas Peace Officer s License or other State Peace Officer License. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. High school graduate or equivalent. Have no class B or higher convictions for the past 10 years. Have no class A or felony convictions. Must not have been convicted or placed on community supervision for an offense involving family violence as defined under Chapter 71, Texas Family Code. Applicants with prior military service must have an Honorable discharge. Must be able to work twelve (12) hour patrol shifts, weekends and holidays. Applicant must take and pass a background investigation, interview, pre-employment psychological exam, drug screen and physical administered by the City of Whitehouse appointed physician at the City s expense. Applicant must have a current valid class C driver s license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record. Out of State Applicants much have an equivalent valid driver s license from that state. Must be able to pass a psychological, physical, and drug test. Must be able to complete physical tasks such as climbing stairs, lifting 20 pounds, running and standing for extended time. Must pass an extensive background check.
