Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Assists U.S. Probation Officers in compiling, analyzing, researching, and evaluating information gathered during investigations for presentence reports, supervision files, and court documents. Conducts case file reviews and advises officers and officer assistants of matters needing their attention and prepares applicable forms, documents, and reports. Contacts clients and their families by telephone or other electronic correspondence under the direction of U.S. Probation Officers/Officer Assistants. Observes collection of urine samples from clients of the same gender in accordance with established procedures for substance abuse testing protocol. Maintains chain of custody of urinalysis materials. Maintains paper and computerized record of test results and informs officers of test results. Maintains and mails or transports tests and materials to laboratories for confirmation. Please note that client contacts occur in a controlled office setting. Assists with administrative duties, including front desk coverage, processing mail, scanning documents, and routes documents to staff and outside agencies as needed. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent, plus two years of general experience. General experience is defined as responsible clerical, office, or other work which indicates the possession of or the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position. Education above the high school level may be substituted for required general experience with one academic year (30 semester or 45 quarter hours of undergraduate study) equaling one year of general experience. Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment, maintain confidentiality Acts with integrity Accurate data entry, data analysis, and critical thinking skills Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to be successful in a team environment Ability to interact and communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, including persons under supervision, law enforcement personnel, and the public Detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize work Proficient use of automated software applications (Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, etc.) Skill in spelling, grammar, proofreading, and the preparation of various forms, documents, correspondence and reports Maintenance of electronic files and tracking systems How To Apply "Easy Apply" applications submitted through Indeed will not be accepted.
