Job Description

The George McCranie Law Firm is looking for an experienced Immigration Legal Assistant to join our team in Valdosta, GA. This is a client-facing position where you'll meet with clients in person, guide them through their immigration journey, and be their trusted point of contact throughout their case. Our team is carefully selected to create and deliver an exceptional client experience. We're now seeking someone with hands-on immigration experience who thrives on human connection and wants to make a real difference in people's lives. What Makes This Role Different This isn't a behind-the-scenes support role. You'll be the face of our immigration department in Valdosta; sitting down with clients, explaining their cases in detail, and building the kind of trust that turns a stressful legal process into a supportive experience. What You'll Be Doing Do you have a passion for helping others and giving them peace of mind?
A typical day will include:
Meeting with clients in person to explain their case status, next steps, and immigration options Preparing and organizing immigration case packages including U-Visas, AOS, VAWA, K-1 Visas, Green Card Renewals, DACA/AP, N-400, I-130, I-765, and more Completing and reviewing immigration forms with accuracy and attention to detail Communicating with clients in both English and Spanish to request documents, provide updates, and follow up on pending items Collaborating with our internal team to keep cases moving forward Maintaining accurate case notes and updating case management systems Supporting the office by assisting with client walk-ins and inquiries when needed What You Bring to the Role Previous experience in U.S. immigration law as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, or Case Manager (required) Familiarity with immigration case types such as U-Visa, AOS, VAWA, K-1, Green Card Renewals, DACA, N-400, I-130, I-765, and similar Bilingual in English and Spanish (professional-level fluency in both) Strong client-facing skills
