Job Description

Legal Assistant We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and professional Legal Assistant to support our attorneys, paralegals, and clients. The ideal candidate is a courteous and proactive professional with exceptional communication and customer service skills. This role includes managing office correspondence and emails, answering phone calls, arranging meetings, handling e-filings through MDEC, and managing the firm's calendar, ensuring our legal team is aware of upcoming deadlines. Responsibilities
  • Client Relations:
    Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and provide professional updates to clients.
  • Organize Physical Files:
    Maintain digital and physical case files to ensure documents are easily accessible.
  • Organize Electronic Filings:
    Manage MDEC filings, ensuring they are processed and uploaded to the Case Management System and shared with the clients.
  • Manage Calendars:
    Maintain and manage the office calendar and track critical court deadlines.
  • Handle Documentation:
    Draft, proofread, and e-file pleadings, motions, and general legal correspondence.
  • Draft Documentation:
    Draft correspondence and emails to clients and opposing counsel. Draft subpoenas and affidavits.
  • Additional Tasks:
    Be willing to take on additional administrative tasks as required. Qualifications
  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Previous experience in customer service.
  • Proficient in MS Office Products.
  • Experience using legal software or a case management system. Experience using CLIO is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Some college is preferred but not required.
  • At least two (2) years working in a law firm or legal environment.
