The successful candidate will be responsible for working with juveniles who have been assigned probation, by providing monitoring of program rules compliance. This position is also responsible for documenting compliance, performing school system and home visits, notifying the court of all violations, entering data, testifying in court, and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate must be at least twenty-one years of age, of good moral character, and possess a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice or a related field. The candidate must be able to take and pass a required examination within six (6) months of the hire date. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to process information efficiently, apply problem-solving skills, and manage time effectively. The candidate must be capable of managing a large caseload, meeting deadlines, and working with a diverse population. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required. Wages are paid according to the Salary Schedule for Probation Officers by the State of Indiana. Regular business hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30 pm. However, the candidate must be flexible and available to work outside of standard hours, including regular on call requirements.
