Job Description

Position:
Part-Time Misdemeanor Probation Officer - Split between Humphreys & Hickman Co Reports to:
Program Director, Misdemeanor Management Program Summary:
The Misdemeanor Probation Officer is responsible for the supervision and monitoring of misdemeanor probationers in Humphreys and Hickman Counties while working primarily out of the General Sessions and Circuit Courts.
Responsibilities include:
  • Supervising misdemeanor probationers through office visits and case management.
  • Assessing client needs and coordinating supportive services and treatment referrals.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with program policies and procedures.
  • Providing testimony in court proceedings as required.
  • Assisting with electronic monitoring activities.
  • Collecting supervision fees and maintaining financial documentation.
  • Maintaining the agency's case management database.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree with a minimum of two (2) years of related work experience required; Bachelor's Degree preferred in Criminal Justice, Social or Behavioral Sciences, Management, or a closely related field.
  • Four (4) years of directly related work experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
  • Experience with criminal court proceedings and offender supervision preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain detailed, accurate, and confidential records.
  • Valid Tennessee Driver's License and reliable transportation preferred.
Job Type & Benefits:
Part-time position (up to 24 hours per week). MCHRA offers a competitive benefits package, including participation in the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS), paid holidays (as eligible), and other agency benefits.
Salary:
$17.00 per hour Preference will be given to qualified applicants who reside in Humphreys or Hickman County.
Selection:
Qualified applicants will be interviewed by Agency management. The candidate determined to be the best qualified will be selected. E.O.E.
