Avon, CT Job Details Full-time Up to $150,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Fuel card Paid holidays Health insurance Paid time off 401(k) matching Life insurance Qualifications Safety management experience within construction industry Construction regulatory compliance Full Job Description ROTHA Contracting Company is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee and enforce safety across all job sites in Connecticut. This role is responsible for ensuring employees are working safely, maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and managing safety training and reporting. Key Responsibilities Perform routine site visits to ensure OSHA compliance and proper use of PPE Identify hazards, enforce safety standards, and take corrective action as needed Work directly with company executives and foremen to promote a strong safety culture Review and update site-specific safety plans Conduct employee safety training and coordinate external training as needed (Aerial Lift Trainer, First Aid/CPR, Lead Awareness, Guano). Coordinate and track required safety certifications and annual trainings. Conduct and document DOT-related inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations Manage workers' compensation claims and reporting Investigate incidents and accidents, complete reports, and recommend corrective actions Maintain proper documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements, and enter and maintain safety data in the company's safety management system Prepare and distribute monthly safety reports Order and maintain inventory of safety equipment and PPE, and distribute as needed Maintain and update the company's Safety Data Sheet library to ensure completeness and accessibility. Qualifications 3+ years of safety experience in construction (heavy civil preferred)
OSHA 30 DOT
medical card (or ability to obtain) Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety practices Experience with safety training and incident investigation Ability to work independently and travel between job sites
