The Safety Compliance Manager drives continuous improvement of safety performance and ensures consistent compliance with Corporate safety standards following recent divisional safety assessment failures by conducting routine site visits, identifying hazards, managing corrective actions, maintaining required documentation and delivering focused training to Associates and Trade Partners. This role ensures compliance with Company safety standards and regulatory requirements while promoting proactive risk reduction across the division, including construction, office, and model home related operations, and building a sustainable, documented safety program for the division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following.
  • Perform routine site safety visits to ensure safety compliance according to K. Hovnanian's code of safe practices and safety policies and procedures. This is in addition to facilitating compliance with any OSHA, local or state safety policies and regulations. Include documented inspections using division-approved tools and ensure required inspection frequency is met.
  • Responsible for training Associates on division and company requirements for documentation, reporting and communication protocols.
  • Responsible for informing the management chain of command per company guidelines should an incident occur. Ensure timely reporting of all incidents, near misses, and hazards using standardized forms.
  • Respond to any serious accidents of any of K. Hovnanian's job sites and facilitate documentation and completion of the serious accident report. Conduct or support root-cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified.
  • Provide construction trailer set up as needed to be compliant with K. Hovnanian's code of safe practices. Verify all required postings, documentation, and emergency information are current and accurate.
  • Perform focused training to our associates on topics that are not yielding satisfactory compliance reports. Track training attendance, maintain records, and evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Work with trades to provide them ideas on improving their safety compliance programs to ensure we all have safe working conditions. Conduct trade partner safety evaluations and escalate repeated non-compliance to division leadership.
  • Maintain legally defensible safety records, including inspections, training logs, incident reports, and corrective action documentation.
  • Participate in preconstruction meetings to identify safety requirements early in the planning process.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Safety, Corporate Quality, and Risk Management to ensure alignment with companywide standards.
EDUCATION and/or Experience Bachelor's degree or 5 years of experience in a related field. Strong documentation discipline and ability to maintain compliance records. Ability to influence without authority and hold trade partners accountable. Experience conducting root-cause analysis and managing corrective actions. Hazard communication. Successful candidate must maintain a valid driver's license. K.
