Overview We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Life Safety Officer to support the safety and security of our residents, employees, and visitors. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this position coordinates fire and emergency preparedness activities, conducts routine safety inspections, maintains required documentation, and follows up on identified deficiencies. The Life Safety Officer works closely with facility leadership, Nursing, maintenance personnel, service vendors, and local emergency officials to help maintain a safe, compliant, and inspection-ready environment. Responsibilities Conduct and document routine inspections of exit routes, fire and smoke doors, alarm panels, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, door alarms, and other life-safety equipment. Coordinate required inspections, testing, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, generators, extinguishers, and related systems through qualified vendors. Coordinate and document fire drills and emergency preparedness exercises in accordance with Evergreen Place's approved defend-in-place plan and applicable requirements. Maintain organized and inspection-ready records of drills, inspections, testing, vendor services, identified deficiencies, and completed corrective actions. Assist with maintaining and updating the facility's fire safety and emergency preparedness plans. Provide or coordinate employee training on fire response, emergency procedures, evacuation routes, and defend-in-place protocols. Monitor the operation of door locks, door alarms, access-control devices, and other physical security systems. Support Nursing and facility leadership during missing-resident, elopement, and other emergency situations. Assist during inspections conducted by the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, the State Fire Marshal, Manchester Fire Department, and other regulatory authorities. Respond to urgent life-safety situations outside scheduled hours when assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in life safety, facilities, maintenance, security, emergency preparedness, or a health care or residential care setting preferred. Familiarity with fire and life-safety systems and the ability to learn applicable New Hampshire He-P 805, State Fire Code, OSHA, and local requirements. OSHA 10-hour certification preferred. FEMA Incident Command System courses ICS-100 and ICS-200 preferred, or willingness to complete them within a timeframe established by Evergreen Place. Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to recognize and clearly communicate potential hazards and follow corrective actions through completion. Ability to remain calm, exercise sound judgment, and follow the established chain of command during emergencies. Ability to regularly walk throughout the facility and grounds, use stairs, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Pay:

$30.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
