Job Description

Safety Manager — Large Industrial Construction Project (Albuquerque, NM)
Site Details:
This position is based in Albuquerque, NM, and focuses on a multi-year, large-scale industrial and manufacturing construction initiative spanning over 100,000 square feet. Your Impact We are seeking a seasoned Safety Manager to spearhead our safety initiatives at a bustling industrial construction site. This is a proactive, hands-on leadership opportunity rather than a strictly administrative role. You will be responsible for shaping the site's safety culture, guiding a dedicated safety team, and acting as the main liaison for safety matters with a high-expectations client. Core Responsibilities Direct and oversee the comprehensive safety program for the entire site. Provide mentorship and leadership to the on-site safety staff and engineers. Act as the primary daily safety representative for interactions between the client and the project team. Perform incident investigations and root cause analyses to help improve future site safety outcomes. Maintain oversight of all site-wide safety equipment and PPE supplies. Facilitate safety orientations for all site visitors. Organize and facilitate recurring monthly safety committee sessions. Monitor and document all training compliance metrics. Compile and deliver consistent safety performance reports. Qualifications At least a decade of professional experience serving as a safety officer on major construction projects. Possession of an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification. Evidence of at least 8 hours of annual safety training completed consistently over the previous five years. Academic background consisting of either a high school diploma/GED with four years of safety coordination experience, or an associate's degree in a field like industrial hygiene, environmental engineering, or occupational health paired with two years of relevant experience. Proven expertise in emergency preparedness, hazard assessment, construction safety protocols, hazardous material management, and occupational health regulations. Ideal Candidate Profile A natural leader who fosters safety buy-in through collaboration rather than strict policing. Capable of serving as a polished and professional representative of the project when engaging with a demanding client. Background in providing guidance and leadership to other safety professionals. A skilled communicator who can effectively manage challenging discussions on the job site.
