Job Description

Job Description Develops, implements, and monitors hospital and safety management programs for multiple sites. Ensures site compliance with federal, state and local regulations and accreditation standards. Job Responsibility Develops, implements, and monitors hospital and safety management programs based on evaluation of organizational expertise, applicable laws, regulations, and accepted practice; ensures compliance to TJC, federal, state and local requirements. Manages the ongoing process to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvement in environment of care management programs. Prepares and submits reports for hospital administration and outside regulatory agencies as required. Consults with management and staff on a wide variety of safety issues, policies, and concerns including waste management, hazardous material control, and security issues. Implements and monitors effectiveness of safety committee recommendations. Maintains safety manuals as required. Acts as safety educator. Develops and conducts training programs covering all areas associated with site safety, i.e., facility environment, disaster preparedness, emergency preparedness, and new programs or regulations. Responds to and examines safety concerns/issues. Prepares corrective action plans and ensures appropriate follow-up. Oversees and ensures compliance with certification aspects associated with TJC, OSHA and other regulatory agencies. Coordinates and/or performs safety inspections in accordance with applicable laws and Health System policy. Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action. Performs related duties as required. Training and education of staff Policy and Protocol development Compliance monitoring Maintains training document database Monitoring biological agent inventory of laboratories Oversees IBC laboratories Routine maintenance of IBC laboratories Various other tasks as they arise Job Qualification Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. 1-3 years of relevant experience, required. Some experience within a research environment, preferred

•the shift for this position can be either Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm, or 9:00am to 5:00pm

When determining a team member's base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
