Type:

full-time A global chemical manufacturing company is looking to appoint an HSE&S Manager to oversee the EHS function at one of their key locations in the Pittsburgh PA area. The HSES Manager will be a key part of the site leadership team and will be the EHS subject matter expert for this location. The successful candidate will be tasked with fostering and influencing a positive, proactive EHS culture, requiring the ability to influence and engage employees across the facility.

The Role:

Promote and support HSES culture by driving the implementation of core HSES programs, initiatives and regulations. Lead and demonstrate a strong commitment towards HSES standards and guidelines, management systems and procedures. Provide leadership and facilitation of incident investigations and analysis. Train, coach and support the site in HSES issues and regulations. Drive a collaborative, problem-solving culture that supports open reporting and sustainable achievement. Manage regulatory and HSES internal/external visits and audits. Identify and implement initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

The Candidate:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline. 7+ years' experience implementing HSES compliance and risk management within a manufacturing (or related) environment. 5+ years of management/supervisory responsibility. Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations including OSHA PSM and EPA Title V, stormwater, wastewater, RCRA, SPCC, waste regulations, etc. Demonstrated ability to lead and influence a positive EHS culture within a manufacturing plant, and tangible evidence of improving plant-level EHS performance and culture. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Certified Safety Professional, and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred. Experience working with Union workforce preferred.
