Job Description

GARNEY A

Safety Specialist position is available at Garney. The Safety Specialist supports the implementation and execution of jobsite safety programs to ensure a safe work environment. This role promotes safety culture through training, inspections, hazard identification, and employee engagement while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. The position serves as a field safety resource responsible for education, guidance, and proactive incident prevention.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Perform jobsite safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance

Track and follow up on corrective actions to support incident prevention

Assist in developing safe work plans, task hazard analyses, and site-specific procedures

Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety programs

Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training to field teams

Serve as a safety resource for employees and project leadership

Promote a strong safety culture through engagement and accountability

Maintain safety documentation, reporting, and records

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in Occupational Health & Safety

  • Preferred 2+ years of construction experience and 1+ year in a safety role (3+ years preferred)
    Working knowledge of
OSHA 1926

standards and construction safety practices

Strong communication, organization, and training skills

Ability to identify risks, make decisions, and take proactive action

OSHA 30, 500, EM385, CHST, or equivalent; CPR/First Aid Trainer;

OSHA 510

(within 6 months)

  • Required
    OSHA 500, CHST, or other relevant safety certifications
  • Preferred Bilingual in English and Spanish
