Up to 75%; company vehicle provided About Metropolitan Warehouse and Delivery Metropolitan Warehouse and Delivery is the premier final-mile storage and delivery company for new furniture, with more than 48 locations across the United States. We receive inbound goods from overseas containers and domestic furniture manufacturers and store product across our network. We partner with independent contractors to complete final-mile delivery to residential customers. Services include doorstep delivery, inside delivery, unpacking, debris removal, and assembly. Why This Role This is a high-visibility position working directly with the Director of Field Services. You will gain hands- on exposure to safety, compliance, and training strategy across our entire national network. Metropolitan views this role as a development path within Field Services leadership. For the right candidate, it offers meaningful opportunities for growth and advancement as the department evolves. Position Summary The Field Services Manager reports directly to the Director of Field Services and owns safety, compliance, and facility-support work across the majority of Metropolitan's locations. The role centers on three core programs: 1. Warehouse safety and quality audits covering OSHA, ANSI, and FMCSA compliance 2. Safety toolbox talk program for warehouse teams and independent contractors 3. Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety compliance, including Train the Trainer and operator 4. certification Because the role covers most of the company's locations, it requires travel of up to 75% using a company-provided vehicle. Key Responsibilities Warehouse Safety and Quality Audits Conduct warehouse safety and quality audits (OSHA, ANSI, etc.) across covered locations, including audits of PIT operators and equipment and files. Perform racking, dock, and facility inspections to identify and correct safety and compliance issues. Ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and FMCSA regulations at all covered locations. Safety Toolbox Talk Program Support Metropolitan's daily toolbox talk program for warehouse teams and independent contractors, delivered in English and Spanish. Create matching bilingual safety flyers for posting at each location. Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Safety Compliance Serve as an authorized Field Services PIT/forklift Train the Trainer instructor. Ensure all PIT operators at covered locations are fully qualified, certified, and supervised per company and OSHA requirements. Maintain training and certification documentation and submit completed files through the established company process. Monitor sites for compliance gaps and help reduce citation risk. Multi-Location Field Support Travel to the majority of Metropolitan's 48+ locations (up to 75% travel annually) using a company vehicle. Conduct on-site safety walks, audits, and hands-on coaching for warehouse management, warehouse teams, and independent contractors. Serve as the on-the-ground extension of the Field Services team, driving consistent safety practices and standards across the network. Qualifications 3+ years of relevant experience in warehouse/distribution operations, safety, or field services OSHA 30 certification (required) Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (required) Strong training, facilitation, and written communication skills Comfortable working independently across a large, multi-site territory Travel and Work Environment Travel up to 75% to Metropolitan locations nationwide; company vehicle provided. Regular exposure to active warehouse environments, including loading docks and areas with powered industrial equipment.
