Job Description

Description Safety Coordinator
JOB DESCRIPTION
Customer service: answer phone calls, emails, and take messages for department personnel. Works with Plant Safety Committee and Occupational Health department Assist in submitting regular reports on the status of safety and health to senior management. Enter and track all Supervisor Expectation Programs including but not limited to line meetings, daily PPE verifications, safety observations, training status, hearing tracking, and investigation reports. Log and trend all safety observations forms Assist with implementation of new safety and health management systems. Maintain and track the accident record system, investigate accidents (including but not limited to Near Miss, First Aid, Recordable Property Reports) and check on corrective measures that are recommended to prevent reoccurrence. Conduct monthly supervisor safety training classes as well as supervise departmental monthly and annual safety and health training. Conduct weekly plant safety inspection. Make daily plant inspections to uncover unsafe work practices and conditions before they cause accidents. Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws and company policies on industrial safety and health. Assist the complex safety manager and management team in setting standards for personal protective equipment and machine guarding. Work with the Occupational Health Department to help develop our ergonomics program. Assist in approving designs for new and modified equipment and inspect such equipment before putting into operation. Other duties as assigned or required
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum High School or GED College Degree preferred but not required Excellent written and verbal communications skills- Including phone etiquette Self-Starter, energetic, good attitude Must be able to demonstrate effective people skills Team Player Computer skills and knowledge including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Qlikview, Alchemy Trustworthy - Will be handling confidential material Good attendance record Bilingual preferred but not required Must attach a Resume to be considered We are an equal opportunity employer.
