This role combines quality assurance inspections with hands-on detailed cleaning responsibilities. The position operates on a night shift schedule from Tuesday through Saturday, requiring travel between several buildings to perform thorough inspections, corrective cleaning, training ,and coverage for absent staff. The ideal candidate is proactive, reliable, and committed to maintaining exceptional hygiene and presentation standards in a fast-paced, independent work environment. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive nightly inspections of assigned buildings using detailed checklists to evaluate the work performed by cleaning crews, ensuring compliance with company standards for cleanliness, sanitation, and organization. Identify and document any deficiencies, such as dust accumulation, stains, improperly cleaned surfaces, trash overflow, or maintenance issues (e.g., faulty lighting, plumbing leaks, or damaged fixtures), and report them promptly to management. Perform hands-on detail cleaning in areas that do not meet standards, including but not limited to: Dusting high and low surfaces (e.g., shelves, ledges, baseboards, light fixtures, vents). Step in to perform full cleaning duties in the event of staff call-outs or absences, ensuring no disruption to service levels—this may include covering an entire building's cleaning shift if necessary. Maintain accurate digital or written records of inspections, including photos of issues and resolutions, completion times, and any corrective actions taken. Monitor and manage cleaning supplies inventory at each site, restocking as needed and reporting low stock to supervisors. Ensure all equipment (e.g., vacuums, mops, autoscrubbers, buffers) is used safely, cleaned, and stored properly after each shift. Adhere strictly to health, safety, and infection control protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of chemicals, and compliance with OSHA guidelines. Communicate effectively with day-shift management via reports or handovers regarding ongoing issues, completed corrections, or recommendations for process improvements. Occasionally train or provide feedback to cleaning staff based on inspection findings to improve overall team performance. Requirements and Qualifications Minimum 5 years of professional experience in commercial janitorial or cleaning services, with at least 2 years in a supervisory, quality control, or inspection role. Proven expertise in detailed cleaning techniques and knowledge of commercial cleaning equipment, chemicals, and best practices. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify subtle deficiencies in cleanliness and presentation. Strong organizational and time-management skills to efficiently manage multiple buildings in a single shift. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license (required for travel between sites). Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, and operating cleaning machinery. Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision. Basic proficiency in digital tools (e.g., smartphones or tablets for reporting/photos) and written communication for documentation. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in cleaning or safety (e.g., OSHA, bloodborne pathogens) are a plus. Flexibility to handle on-call situations or extended hours for coverage needs. Commitment to professionalism, reliability, and maintaining confidentiality in client buildings.
