POSITION SUMMARY :

The Equipment Technician is responsible for the cleaning, disinfection, inspection, preparation, documentation, and distribution of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and patient care equipment. This position supports infection prevention initiatives by ensuring equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and available for patient use in accordance with hospital policies, manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFU), regulatory requirements, and safety standards. EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, TRAINING and

EXPERIENCE
:
Minimum Required:

High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Experience:

Previous healthcare, sterile processing, environmental services, biomedical equipment, or patient care equipment experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

: Knowledge of infection prevention, cleaning, low-level disinfection, and manufacturer Instructions for Use (IFUs). Ability to operate cleaning and disinfection equipment safely and follow PPE requirements. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Effective communication, teamwork, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills for equipment tracking and recordkeeping, including use of equipment tracking programs as assigned.
