Safety Coordinator

Job Description

Safety Coordinator Reports to: Alejandrina Rosas (Sr. HR Specialist)
Schedule:
M-F 8am-5pm Hourly Role Position Summary The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace within a manufacturing facility. This position coordinates safety programs, conducts inspections and training, investigates incidents, and works with employees and supervisors to identify and reduce workplace hazards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Track corrective actions and verify timely completion.
  • Investigate workplace injuries, near misses, property damage, and other incidents.
  • Prepare incident reports and assist with root-cause analysis.
  • Coordinate employee safety orientation and ongoing safety training.
  • Maintain training records, inspection documentation, safety reports, and regulatory files.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety requirements. Help administer programs related to : o Personal protective equipment o Lockout/tagout o Hazard communication o Machine guarding o Fall protection o Emergency response o Forklift and powered industrial truck safety o Wrap Audits o Hearing conservation o Respiratory protection, as applicable
  • Participate in emergency drills and maintain emergency response procedures.
  • Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors regarding safety concerns.
  • Assist with workers' compensation documentation and return-to-work coordination.
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare reports for management.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and employee safety initiatives.
  • Communicate safety alerts, lessons learned, and policy updates.
  • Assist with environmental, chemical, and waste-management requirements as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as required. Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two or more years of safety experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or construction environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices and hazard identification.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to conduct inspections and communicate findings professionally.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar workplace software.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to spend extended periods walking and standing on the manufacturing floor.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment. Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental health, or a related field.
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour training.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Experience with incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience using safety-management software.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment, chemicals, and industrial processes.
  • Professional certification such as ASP, CSP, GSP, or equivalent. Key Competencies

  • Commitment to continuous improvement Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Work is performed in both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • May be exposed to moving equipment, noise, dust, chemicals, heat, and other industrial conditions.
  • Must be able to walk throughout the facility, climb stairs or ladders when necessary, and perform routine inspections.
  • Must follow all site safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Pay:
From $20.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
