Operations Manager Position Summary STS Security, Inc. is seeking a dependable, organized, and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our security services. This position works closely with the Operations Manager to ensure security sites are properly staffed, officers are meeting company and client expectations, schedules are maintained, and operational issues are addressed promptly. The Assistant Operations Manager will serve as a key point of contact for security officers, supervisors, clients, and office management. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced security environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Operations Manager with daily security operations and administrative responsibilities. Assist with preparing and maintaining employee schedules and ensuring all client sites and posts are properly staffed. Respond to call-offs, no-call/no-shows, tardiness, and other staffing issues and assist with finding appropriate coverage. Communicate regularly with security officers, site supervisors, scheduling personnel, and management. Maintain professional communication with clients and respond promptly to operational concerns, complaints, or service requests. Conduct routine and unannounced site visits to evaluate officer performance, appearance, attendance, post coverage, and compliance with post orders. Ensure officers understand and follow client-specific post orders, company policies, procedures, and security protocols. Assist with supervising, coaching, counseling, and documenting employee performance and attendance issues. Prepare and review incident reports, daily activity reports, disciplinary documentation, and other operational records. Assist with investigating security incidents, employee complaints, client concerns, and policy violations. Help coordinate new employee placement, site assignments, training, and orientation. Maintain accurate documentation regarding staffing changes, incidents, employee performance, and client communications. Monitor employee timekeeping and promptly report or assist with correcting clock-in/clock-out discrepancies. Assist management with ensuring employees maintain required licenses, certifications, uniforms, and other job requirements. Build positive working relationships with clients and employees while maintaining professional boundaries. Identify operational problems and recommend solutions to improve staffing, employee performance, client satisfaction, and service quality. Provide operational coverage and management support when the Operations Manager is unavailable. Assist with emergency staffing and after-hours operational issues as needed. Perform additional operational and supervisory duties as assigned by management. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in security operations, security supervision, field supervision, or operations management strongly preferred. Prior experience supervising security officers or managing multiple client locations is preferred. Strong leadership and employee-management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational, scheduling, and time-management abilities. Ability to handle multiple priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills. Ability to remain professional and calm when handling employee, client, or emergency situations. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, scheduling systems, email, and electronic timekeeping systems. Must maintain confidentiality regarding employees, clients, and company operations. Additional Requirements Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Must be able to travel between client sites as required. Must meet all applicable Illinois security licensing requirements, including maintaining an active PERC when required for the position. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs. Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, emergencies, or after-hours staffing issues may be required. Must maintain a professional appearance and represent STS Security, Inc. appropriately when interacting with clients and employees. Pay:
$52,890.62 - $63,696.23 per year
