Position Overview:

The Security Lead will report to the Security Operations Manager. The Security Lead will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all, while following and enforcing all Company policies and procedures. The Security Lead will provide day-to-day operational leadership to assigned Security Officers, coordinate shift activities, and serve as the primary point of contact for routine security matters during the assigned shift.

Position Responsibilities:

Provides day-to-day leadership, direction, and operational guidance to Security Officers assigned to the shift. Coordinates post assignments, patrol responsibilities, breaks, and shift coverage to ensure continuous security operations. Serves as the acting point of contact for Security Officers during the shift and promptly escalates significant incidents, staffing concerns, or policy issues to the Security Supervisor. Conducts shift briefings and ensures accurate, detailed pass-down information is communicated between outgoing and incoming personnel. Reviews daily activity reports, incident reports, logs, and other security documentation for completeness, accuracy, and timely submission. Assists with training, coaching, and mentoring Security Officers on post orders, access control, emergency response, report writing, radio procedures, and Company security requirements. Monitors officer performance and adherence to post orders, Company policies, safety requirements, uniform standards, and professional conduct; communicates performance concerns to the Security Supervisor. Coordinates the initial security response to alarms, emergencies, medical incidents, workplace disturbances, access-control issues, and other security events until relieved by Security supervision, management, or responding authorities. Assists with preliminary fact gathering, witness coordination, preservation of relevant video or access-control information, and incident documentation as directed. Conducts periodic checks of security posts, gates, patrol areas, vehicles, radios, keys, badges, and assigned equipment to ensure operational readiness and accountability. Supports visitor, contractor, and vehicle access-control operations and helps resolve access issues in accordance with approved procedures. Maintains professional communication with employees, contractors, visitors, management, EHS, Human Resources, and emergency responders as required. Monitors and facilitates visitor sign in and out which includes verifying identity and permission to access facility. Conducts hourly sporadic property patrols and documents any issues, conversations, or observances in detail on log. Control s vehicle entrance and monitors and permits entry of visitors by vehicle and on foot and provides direction as needed. Uses telephone and radio communication to assist in verifying activities and maintaining security. Follows procedures for key control and monitor s access. Provides detailed and thorough communications to Security Officer(s) at the beginning and ending of shifts. Completes incident reports and daily activity reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities. Interviews witnesses, records witness statements, and obtains signatures as necessary. Supplements reports with photo, audio and video footage as needed. Serves as the liaison with first responders by sounding life safety alarms, summoning emergency and law enforcement assistance when needed, and communicating in detail about situations with first responders. Reacts quickly and professionally to any requests for Security intervention. Maintains a positive work relationship with all other department and organizational personnel, while promoting the team concept in the workplace environment. Follows all employer safety and health rules. Wears and/or uses personal protective equipment, when and how instructed.

Other Functions:

Provide shift pass down to on-coming shift; ensuring any duties that need completion are passed to the next shift. Escort emergency personnel to locations where they are needed. Patrol facility by way of company provided vehicle. Conduct assigned inspections of key areas and various equipment (vehicles, fire extinguishers, life safety equipment, etc.). Provide transportation for either injured employees to the nearest medical facility for treatment or drug screening. Ensure Security Office is always cleaned and maintained in an orderly manner. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent 3+ years of experience 1+ year of security lead, supervisory, military leadership, law enforcement leadership, or equivalent team-lead experience preferred. Must possess a valid driver s license and maintain a clean driving record \Must possess or be able to obtain required BSSIS and Nevada PILB armed security licenses, permits, and certifications Must possess or be able to obtain a valid California and Nevada Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit Must maintain all firearms permits, licenses, and certifications in good standing and in compliance with applicable state and federal laws Must be authorized and legally qualified for open and concealed carry in accordance with applicable laws Must successfully complete and maintain all required firearms qualification, training, and requalification standards Must demonstrate safe firearm handling, judgment, and adherence to use-of-force policies Must be capable of performing armed static post duties, including access control, patrol, and response to security incidents Must be honest and have good judgment Must be able to keep information confidential Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to coach personnel, resolve routine operational issues, and escalate significant concerns through the appropriate chain of command. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize staffing, post coverage, reporting, and operational requirements during the assigned shift. • Our facility sits at an elevation of 4,700 feet. Employees may be subject to extreme weather conditions when working in an outdoor setting (heat and cold, wind). Work is at an open pit mine or manufacturing/chemical plant setting, which may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.
