Job Description
Allied Consulting and Security is seeking a professional and dependable Unarmed Egress Security Officer to provide security services at a busy retail location. The Egress Officer will be primarily positioned near designated store exits and will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for customers, employees, and visitors. This is a customer-facing security position requiring strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift. Key Responsibilities Maintain a highly visible security presence at designated exit/egress areas. Monitor customers and activity near store exits for suspicious or unusual behavior. Observe and report suspected theft, policy violations, safety concerns, and other incidents. Assist with maintaining an orderly and safe exit area. Provide professional customer service and assistance when needed. Communicate with store management regarding security-related concerns. Respond professionally to disturbances and use verbal de-escalation when appropriate. Contact law enforcement when necessary in accordance with company policy and applicable law. Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity reports using the TrackTik system. Maintain awareness of surrounding areas, including entrances, exits, parking areas, and other designated security zones as assigned. Follow all company, client, and site-specific security procedures. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Important Job Expectations This is an unarmed, hands-off security position . Officers are expected to observe, deter, document, and report security concerns. Officers are not authorized to physically detain, restrain, chase, or use physical force against customers or other individuals except where specifically permitted by law and company policy. When an individual refuses to comply with a lawful request or a situation escalates, officers should follow site procedures and contact law enforcement as appropriate. Qualifications Valid security guard license/card required. Previous security or retail security experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professional appearance and customer-service skills. Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to remain calm and professional during challenging situations. Must be dependable and punctual. Must pass a background check and any other required pre-employment screening.
