SUMMARY :

Under the general direction of the Facility Manager, provides safety and security oversight of the Ready to Work transitional housing facility. Facility Monitors work to provide the necessary life skills to clients by serving as a mentor to assist in living independently and job responsibilities. Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

:

Education/Experience:

Must possess a high school diploma and/or a GED with 6 months of related work experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to orally and in writing, clearly communicate in English. A secondary language is preferred

Math Ability:

Basic math ability to ensure accurate timecard punches, calculate mileage, etc.

Computer Skills:

Ability to use email and general computer skills

Driving:

Must possess current driver's license in the State of California and have current vehicle insurance and the ability to maintain said insurance.

Clearance:

Ability to pass a background check.

Other:

Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed. First Aid/CPR and de-escalation or crisis intervention training (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire). Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations and demonstrate sound judgment. Prior experience in security, corrections, residential programs, or working with justice-impacted populations strongly preferred.

DUTIES:

Security and Surveillance Monitor facility entrances and exits, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises. Conduct pat-downs and property searches on clients upon intake and reentry from offsite activities. Perform hourly perimeter and facility walkthroughs to ensure security and identify any hazards or rule violations. Conduct random dorm and property searches for contraband or prohibited items. Monitor security cameras and respond to suspicious activity or incidents in real time. Coordinate with San Joaquin County Sheriff on K-9 search or special searches at housing units. Other security related tasks and duties as assigned Facility Maintenance and Safety Ensures all staff, clients and visitors are accounted for and safe Establishes on-site household duty schedules with clients, Case Managers and administrators to ensure site cleanliness Conduct routine inspections of common areas, dormitories, bathrooms, and grounds to ensure cleanliness, safety, and functionality. Report maintenance concerns or needed repairs to the operations team in a timely manner. Perform light janitorial tasks during slower shifts, as needed. Ensure fire safety systems, exit routes, and emergency procedures are understood and operable. Enforces health and safety regulations of the facility, and contacts outside agencies if necessary. (police, fire, medical personnel) Client Oversight Ensures all structured rules are adhered to by clients Assists with random drug testing Maintain a high level of awareness regarding behaviors that may indicate substance use or relapse and report concerns to appropriate staff. Assist with client medication management in accordance with agency policies and procedures, including monitoring self-administration, securing medications, and documenting compliance or concerns. Provide de-escalation support and notify appropriate staff in crisis situations or behavioral incidents. Coordinates with Work Crew Leader on outside work projects with clients Maintains accurate and fully updated client files, including entering client information into applicable databases and storage systems Assist in providing adequate and appropriate client support services Provide transportation of clients, such as court-mandated sessions, scheduled health care appointments, and other various needs Coordinate with Work Crew Leader on special hours or projects Track and document all coming and going of clients and visitors. Client Interaction and Role Modeling Treat all residents with respect and dignity, modeling appropriate behavior and boundaries. Offer guidance, redirection, or emotional support in alignment with trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing principles. Provide mentorship, coaching and correction to clients when needed Overnight Responsibilities Conduct headcounts and bed checks at designated times throughout the night to verify resident presence and well-being. Complete thorough cleaning of staff bathrooms, offices, and shared workspaces to prepare for the following day. Maintain quiet hours, ensure resident compliance with nighttime policies, and address disturbances respectfully. Log all overnight activities, incidents, maintenance needs, and client interactions in shift reports. Prepare shift change notes for incoming morning staff and brief them on any urgent or unresolved matters.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work environment is generally in an office and in a communal living space. Conditions can be loud and chaotic.

Pay:

$20.00 - $25.76 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
