The Head Security Officer is responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day operations of all security functions across the property. This role ensures the protection and safety of the organization's assets, personnel, members, guests, and infrastructure. As the highest-ranking security authority onsite, the Head Security Officer works directly under the General Manager and collaborates closely with the Reception Manager for coordinated scheduling of security coverage. The position provides leadership, training, accountability, and oversight for all security officers and sets the standard for professionalism, integrity, and responsiveness in all safety and security matters.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Lead, schedule, and supervise the daily operations of the entire security team, including both stationary guards and mobile patrol units. Develop and manage security schedules in partnership with the Reception Manager to ensure appropriate coverage at all times. Oversee security incident investigations and ensure timely, accurate documentation and reporting of security-related incidents, breaches, accidents, and unusual occurrences. Maintain oversight of access control procedures and ensure consistent enforcement of property access policies. Serve as liaison between the General Manager, the POA Board, and other internal departments regarding security issues and strategies. Monitor surveillance systems and coordinate response protocols as needed. Conduct routine inspections of facilities, guard posts, and patrol zones to ensure compliance with security protocols. Train, evaluate, and mentor new and existing security staff. Ensure that all security officers maintain appropriate certifications, appearance, and performance standards. Coordinate emergency response procedures. Provide leadership presence during special events, holidays, or incidents requiring elevated security response. Participate in planning and budget discussions related to security needs, staffing, and technology investments. Maintain security uniform inventory, provide order requests to Reception Manager.
Possess a Current Valid Driver's License. Good working knowledge of security operations, safety practices in a business environment and enforcement procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with staff and public, to understand and follow standard operating procedures, to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance, to write and investigate required reports; to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures. Must be able to read in English language and must be able to write legibly in English language. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weight up to 25 pounds. This movement can occur throughout the day Must be able to interact with all types of individuals and remain mentally alert. Must be highly motivated and able to work both independently and as a team Regularly required to walk, stand, drive, observe, and respond in both interior and exterior environments. Exposure to variable weather conditions including wind, rain, heat, and cold. Work may involve prolonged periods of standing or driving. Must be able to remain alert, professional, and composed during high-stress situations or emergencies.
Hours:
We are looking to fill 1 position. This could be a part-time (30 hours per week) or full-time position (32-40 hours) depending on the applicant's need.
