Job Overview We are seeking energetic and detail-oriented Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for implementing transportation security screening procedures at airports to protect travelers and staff. Your proactive approach will help maintain a secure environment by adhering to strict policies and operating procedures while providing excellent customer service. Responsibilities Conduct thorough transportation security screening of passengers, baggage, cargo, and cargo containers using manual handling techniques and X-ray interpretation tools. Enforce airport security protocols by verifying identification and performing background checks on personnel and visitors. Interpret policies accurately to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and federal regulations. Utilize de-escalation techniques and conflict management skills to handle difficult situations calmly and professionally. Perform heavy lifting when necessary during screening processes or equipment setup, ensuring safety at all times. Maintain situational awareness through continuous observation of screening areas via CCTV surveillance and physical patrols. Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies by coordinating with law enforcement or emergency responders as needed. Skills Strong understanding of aviation security protocols and transportation security screening processes. Excellent communication skills in English for clear interaction with travelers and team members. Ability to interpret policies accurately and apply them consistently in various scenarios. Proficiency in manual handling techniques, including performing physical searches and managing heavy objects safely. Skilled in X-ray interpretation for detecting prohibited items within baggage or cargo. Knowledge of airport security regulations, SOPs, and compliance standards. Demonstrated customer service aptitude with in-person interactions that promote a positive traveler experience. Effective conflict management and de-escalation techniques to resolve issues calmly under pressure. Emotional regulation techniques for maintaining composure during stressful situations.
