Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Alarm Service Technician to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of security and alarm systems. Your expertise will ensure our customers' safety and security are always at the forefront. Duties Install electrical security systems including alarm & access control systems, CCTV surveillance, sensors, fire alarms, and door security integrations using low-voltage wiring and schematics. Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of security equipment such as IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), CCTV cameras, sensors, and alarm panels. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately wire and configure complex security systems. Diagnose and resolve issues related to electrical wiring, computer hardware interfacing, network connectivity, remote access software, and system design. Perform system upgrades or modifications based on client needs or technological advancements while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functionalities clearly and supporting clients with technical troubleshooting support. Maintain detailed records of service activities, system configurations, and repair logs for accountability and future reference. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in field service operations. Proficiency in electrical blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, low-voltage electrical wiring, cabling, and construction experience. Expertise in installing and troubleshooting low-voltage electrical systems including fire alarms, security alarms, CCTV surveillance cameras, sensors, access control systems, and intercoms. Knowledge of computer networking principles relevant to security systems including remote access software and telecommunication setups. Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely for equipment installation or repair tasks. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and implement system design specifications effectively. Experience with locksmithing techniques related to door security system integration. Familiarity with NEC standards governing electrical installations in commercial or residential settings. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly. Construction background or prior service technician experience preferred for understanding building environments and safety protocols.
