About client Mechanical contractor with 30,000 + square foot headquarters that features a fitness center, dining facility and locker rooms Received numerous awards in employee satisfaction for past 14 years Service Technician - Fire Alarm Systems Position Summary Reporting to the Fire Alarm Supervisor, the Service Technician is responsible for delivering expert technical support and exceptional customer service while inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, programming, testing, and installing fire alarm systems and related life safety products. This role ensures all work is completed in compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, and company procedures. Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers by providing professional, responsive, and high-quality service. Communicate effectively with customers regarding service needs, system performance, and recommended solutions. Respond promptly to service requests and coordinate with customers to diagnose reported issues. Troubleshoot, repair, and replace malfunctioning fire alarm system components. Program, commission, and test newly installed fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with NFPA 72 requirements. Verify proper system operation following repairs, upgrades, or installations. Perform scheduled inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 and company standards. Document inspection results, identify deficiencies, and recommend corrective actions. Stay current with manufacturer equipment updates, new technologies, and industry best practices through ongoing training. Contribute to the development and implementation of company best practices and process improvements. Participate in project postmortem reviews and provide recommendations to improve future project execution and customer satisfaction Licenses & Certifications Valid driver's license. NICET Level II Certification is preferred Physical Requirements Ability to work in office settings, construction sites, and outdoor environments. Ability to safely climb and work from ladders. Ability to move throughout various work environments as required. Education Associate degree or completion of a two-year technical program preferred. Experience Minimum of three years of relevant experience in the fire alarm or life safety industry preferred.
