In this role, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting by performing surface preparation, masking, sanding, and applying primer to ensure a flawless finish. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality auto body refinishing and restoration work that exceeds customer expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in auto painting, surface preparation, and vehicle maintenance within a dynamic and supportive environment. Duties Perform thorough surface preparation including sanding, grinding, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Mask off areas using surface preparation masking techniques to protect non-painted surfaces during spraying. Apply primers, sealers, and paint using conventional spray guns or airless paint spraying equipment with precision. Utilize hand tools, power tools, grinders, and buffing equipment to achieve smooth surfaces ready for painting. Assist with auto body repair tasks such as minor dent removal, auto glass replacement, and auto restoration projects. Follow safety protocols including the use of respiratory protection and proper handling of paints and coatings. Support vehicle maintenance activities as needed, including detailing and auto estimating tasks to ensure quality standards are met. Skills Proven dealership experience or background in automotive body repair preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools. Expertise in automotive buffing, sanding, auto painting, and coating spray guns. Skilled in surface preparation techniques such as masking, sanding, grinding, and auto restoration processes. Knowledge of automotive surface preparation products including paints, primers, sealers, and buffing compounds. Ability to operate airless paint spraying equipment safely and efficiently. Familiarity with auto glass installation and detailing procedures is a plus. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients. Capable of heavy lifting and performing physically demanding tasks safely.
